World Dance Day at The Bhavan
"Breaking Chains" is a dance piece delving into four key themes: Physical Vulnerability, Objectification and Body Image, Gender-based Violence, and Breaking Stereotypes. The performance vividly portrays the challenges women encounter daily, from navigating public spaces with caution to confronting objectification and unrealistic beauty standards. It addresses the prevalence of gender-based violence, shedding light on survivors' resilience and the urgent need for societal change. The dancers embody courage and strength, inspiring solidarity with all victims. The piece celebrates women who defy stereotypes, challenging societal norms and inspiring others to embrace diversity and agency. "Breaking Chains" is a poignant exploration that invites reflection on women's struggles while celebrating their resilience.
